Attention! The previously declared drought situation also helps the producers
The Minister of Agriculture announced a drought situation for the entire territory of Hungary. In a departure from the previous practice, the drought situation declared at the end of the summer lays the foundation for the claim of the damage mitigation benefit after drought damage in the damage mitigation system, and also facilitates the administration of the producers in the case of force majeure notifications related to agricultural subsidies.
Long before the legal deadline of October 31, the Agricultural Notice LXXII. in the August 19, 2022 edition of the year, the announcement of the Minister of Agriculture was published, according to which a drought situation has developed in the entire territory of Hungary in the 2022 damage mitigation year, so it will be possible to request damage mitigation benefits from the damage mitigation fund after drought damage occurred throughout the country. Damaged producers must also meet the eligibility conditions in order to be able to use the damage mitigation benefit. Administration can be speeded up
The publication of the drought notice also helps producers manage their affairs: force majeure notifications sent to the Hungarian State Treasury can be accepted more quickly in order to be exempted from fulfilling the obligations arising from certain agricultural support legal relationships in connection with drought damage. The legislative amendment required for this will be published soon. In addition to the possibility of an extraordinary loan moratorium due to the drought, the requirement to pay insurance claims in advance, simplifications related to irrigation, and the new fodder transport subsidy, the Ministry of Agriculture will make all the administrative simplifications that help the lives of farmers.
