Lidl saved food from festivals
After last year, once again this year, Lidl Hungary offered the fruit, vegetables and bakery products left over from its summer relocations to those in need, with which it helped feed 800 needy people. The company places great emphasis on supporting the needy and protecting our environment, which is why it now helps tens of thousands of people and families on a monthly basis within the framework of its food rescue program launched years ago.
Lidl Hungary is constantly working to operate as a socially and environmentally responsible company. In line with this, within the framework of its donation program, it supports the needy throughout the year and from time to time reviews how it can reduce its ecological footprint in addition to the measures it has already implemented. Thus, last year, it was the first among the supermarket chains to offer the vegetables, fruits and baked goods left over from its summer camps, the Campus Festival, the EFOTT and the Lidl Balaton swim to charity. Following the positive experiences, the company decided to continue this practice this year as well. Through its charitable partners, the discount chain distributed its donations to a total of 800 people, including needy families with young children, the homeless and Ukrainian refugees.
