This year, the Ecumenical Relief Organization will once again organize its traditional Advent-Christmas charity dinner, which the E.ON Hungária Group is supporting with 7 million forints and two days of volunteering

  • For seven days, between December 16th and 22nd, volunteers, supporters and the Relief Organization’s employees will distribute 1,000 portions of food per day to the homeless and families living in poor social conditions
  • Since 2012, the Ecumenical Relief Organization and the E.ON Hungária Group have helped people and families in need with tens of thousands of portions of hot food. During this time, E.ON also supported the charity dinner with a financial donation and volunteer work.
  • As part of the strategic partnership, E.ON will support the work of the Ecumenical Aid Organization with 50 million forints per year between 2024-2027

The Ecumenical Aid Organization will serve the homeless and families living in poor social conditions with warm food, a heated tent and a festive atmosphere at its traditional Advent-Christmas charity dinner between December 16 and 22. The E.ON Hungária Group is supporting the implementation of the first two days of the initiative with seven million forints and volunteer work. In recent years, tens of thousands of meals have been delivered to those in need together with the Relief Organization.

On the first day of the relief campaign, Tuesday, December 16, the Ecumenical Relief Organization’s charity dinner will be joined as volunteers by István Koko Kovács, Olympic champion boxer and Goodwill Ambassador of the Relief Organization, Attila Katus, world champion in aerobics, lifestyle consultant, and actresses Eszter Kardos and Léda Mezei. Those who come to the charity dinner will be treated to a substantial, festive menu, and in addition to fried chicken legs, rice cakes and apple peppers, they will also be served bread, cakes and sugar cookies. In addition to a warm meal, I would like those living in need to also experience the warmth and human attention of Christmas.

“Hospitality is one of the most beautiful stages of our social responsibility programs, to which we contribute in addition to financial support with the voluntary work of our employees. We not only want to give a warm meal to those in need, but we also try to smuggle a few hours of care and warmth into the days before Christmas. We are proud that we have been working with the A Relief Organization for almost 15 years in order to give attention, create opportunities and provide hope together to those who need it most”

– said Gergely Losonczi, Head of Corporate Communications at E.ON Hungária Group.

The Advent The fundraiser started 30 years ago with a few empty boxes and a belief in human goodness and has now become the largest holiday gathering in the country. The Relief Organization believes in the power of unity and the value of solidarity passed down from generation to generation, which enables charitable work to continue 365 days a year year after year.

The defining moments of the Ecumenical Relief Organization’s Advent Fundraising are the Christmas aid campaigns, when we try to make the holiday of families in need more beautiful and hopeful. But it is at least as important for us to stand by them not only at this time, but all year round. The E.ON Hungária Group has been our committed supporter in this work for a decade and a half, for which we are sincerely grateful!”

– emphasized Kristóf Gáncs, the Executive Director of the Ecumenical Relief Organization.

As part of their strategic agreement concluded last year Until 2027, the E.ON Hungária Group will support the Ecumenical Aid Organization’s work to help those in need with a donation of 50 million per year, a total of 200 million forints. In addition to implementing the traditional Advent charity dinner, the corporate group also regularly contributes to supporting the school and kindergarten programs and the Kapaszkodó 2.0 program.

The capital’s charity dinner is connected to the Ecumenical Aid Organization’s national Advent Fundraising. The charitable organization’s holiday aid campaigns and its year-round work for those in need can be supported by dialing the donation line 1353!  1 call to the donation line is a 500 forint donation, so 4 calls can mean a bowl of hot food for someone in need!
