Thanks to the 200 million forint support from the Ministry of Agriculture, the renovated Törley Mausoleum received decorative lighting – announced Tamás Andréka, State Secretary for Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture at the ceremony in Budafok on Thursday. This occasion is also special because as Easter approaches, we understand even more the essence of renewal, that our values will be preserved if we take care of them together.

In his speech, the State Secretary highlighted that the tomb, which had been neglected and damaged for a long time, regained its dignity with the cooperation of the people living here, civil organizations, the local government and state agencies. During the restoration, the building was cleaned, the steps of the chapel were restored, and the reliefs created by József Damkó were also renewed.

The newly completed decorative lighting not only highlights the building, but also symbolically sheds new light on the Törley legacy. The mausoleum is a worthy memorial to the work of József Törley, who directly discovered Hungarian champagne in the Etyek-Buda Wine Region. As a result of his work, not only was one of Europe’s most famous champagne factories born here in Budafok, but Hungarian champagne culture also began to flourish. József Törley is an example of the creative spirit, and Törley champagne has become a symbol of quality and sophistication.

He explained that Hungarian champagnes are among the best in the world, which is why the Ministry of Agriculture views the grape and wine sector as a strategic sector. The ministry has expanded investment subsidies, a program supporting innovation developments, and launched promotional subsidies for foreign and domestic markets. This way, consumers can get to know Hungarian wines and sparkling wines as widely as possible, both at home and abroad, emphasized Tamás Andréka.
