Visit Hungary places greater emphasis on sustainable tourism – Sustainia Roadshow launched
Visit Hungary has set a goal of strengthening sustainable tourism in 2025 – the sector is estimated to be responsible for around 8–9% of global greenhouse gas emissions, while the burden can be reduced through conscious organization and traveler decisions.
With the professional assistance of the Danish Sustainia, the organization also produced a sustainability publication (with 50 Hungarian good practices) and launched a series of professional events called Sustainia Roadshow, one of the focuses of which is the sustainable experience offer in Budapest and its surroundings.
In addition to environmental aspects, the approach also emphasizes social and economic pillars – for example, by involving local labor, prioritizing local actors and products
