Sustainable mobility in the Westend: ground-breaking micro-mobility developments
The new micromobility service of the Westend shopping center called “Westend – connected to the city” awaits visitors with outstanding opportunities, and its aim is to support sustainable transport. The project not only facilitates easier access to the shopping center, but is also a vanguard of environmentally conscious urban transport.
Westend is committed to environmentally friendly transport solutions and is constantly developing its infrastructure to reduce air pollution and emissions. From the summer of 2024, the shopping center has created 24 new car-sharing parking spaces to encourage visitors to use green means of transport. In addition to the previously available bicycle and electric scooter parking spaces, they now offer even more options for sustainable travel.
The complex mobility center provides the following:
32 car-sharing parking spaces
76 bicycle parking spaces
22 MOL Bubi station
63 scooter parking spaces
Courier bicycle and scooter parking lots
Ioana Ion, the managing director of Westend, highlighted that by creating the micro-mobility hub, the shopping center is taking a significant step in the promotion of environmentally conscious transport, and emphasized: “Sustainable urban life and modern transport solutions are essential for the future.”
The developments not only serve the convenience of customers, but also actively contribute to the sustainable transport transformation of Budapest, promoting the everyday use of green transport in the city.
