Packeta is about to have a new owner
CVC Capital Partners, an international fund manager, and Emma Capital, a Czech private investment holding company, will jointly acquire the parcel delivery company Packeta, founded in 2010, according to the company’s announcement on Tuesday.
The company, which operates in six countries and operates 15,000 parcel collection points and 6,000 parcel machines in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Romania and Poland, is expected to complete the transaction in the first half of 2024 following official approvals. The company generated a turnover of 294 million euros last year and has been profitable for years.
During the transaction, the Luxembourg fund manager buys 65 percent, while the Czech holding company buys 35 percent. The Czech holding company also involves the Czech R2G group in the transaction, the amount of which has not been disclosed.
The company’s founder and CEO, Simona Kijonková, thanked employees and customers, stating that the changes bring new momentum and plans to increase their investments in technology and automation. The managing director of Packeta in Hungary, Éva Csatlós, is optimistic about the change of ownership, stating that their goal is still to establish the country’s largest fixed-point parcel delivery network.
