The Austrian Post Group’s parcel logistics service provider, Express One Hungary Kft., will acquire 100 percent of the shares of the parcel logistics service provider, Delivery Solutions Zrt., known under the Sameday Hungary brand, which will thus merge into the Austrian company’s subsidiary – the company informed MTI on Monday.

With the transaction, all of Sameday’s employees, customer base and infrastructure, as well as its 1,100 parcel machines, will be transferred to Express One, making the company one of the largest operators of parcel machines and parcel points in Hungary – they wrote.

Sameday was founded in 2007, also operates in Romania under the same name brand, and has been present in Hungary since 2020 through its subsidiary Delivery Solutions Zrt. The company, which employs 230 people, provides eMAG’s parcel logistics, handles a seven-figure parcel volume on a monthly basis, and achieved sales of more than 22 million euros in its last financial year, it was announced.

Express One Hungary – formerly known as trans-o-flex Hungary Kft. – has been a dominant player in the Hungarian parcel logistics market for nearly 30 years. The company, which employs nearly 280 people, is responsible for delivering 120,000 packages domestically and regionally daily.

According to Walter Oblin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Austrian Post, the acquisition strengthens the group’s position in Hungary, creating a stable foundation for innovation and growth, and demonstrates the company’s readiness for expansion in Southeastern and Eastern Europe

– the announcement reads.

According to Sameday Group CEO Lucian Baltaru, the transaction supports the company’s growth by concentrating resources more effectively. “Hungary was the first international market where we launched our operations, the experiences gained there provided valuable lessons and contributed to our subsequent regional expansion,” he said.

Express One Hungary CEO Péter Pesztericz, according to the statement, highlighted that the merger significantly increases the company’s market coverage and logistics capacities in the growing parcel logistics market, and noted that the company will move to its new parcel processing center with a warehouse area of 13,900 square meters in July.

The purchase price was not disclosed by the parties, and the transaction may close following regulatory approval (merger control and foreign direct investment permits).
