They liquidated a network of vegetable companies that also operated an invoice factory
Almost two billion forints worth of VAT has not been paid by the criminal organization involved in the fruit and vegetable trade, which was recently liquidated by the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV), the Central Hungarian Criminal Directorate of the NAV told MTI on Tuesday.
According to the information, the leaders of the organization that also operates the invoice factory were arrested, and the seized, perishable inventory was auctioned off.
The “main profile” of the criminal organization was that it issued fictitious domestic purchase invoices to some vegetable and fruit traders of the Budapest Wholesale Market, while the companies actually procured the goods directly from the territory of the Community. The invoice factory’s companies registered in the names of Strómans also issued invoices with false content for many other activities. The criminal organization undertook the delivery of goods and logistics administration, the statement reads.
