One million visitors in the national parks
Increasing interest can be detected towards eco-tourism showing nature values. In 10 National Parks of Hungary and in other protected areas 1.4 million domestic and foreign tourists are expected to take a visit by the end of the year.
Baczó Bertalan, Department leader of the Ministry of Rural Development, responsible for National Parks and Nature Conservation told MTI that the increasing interest is mainly due to the fact that the flora and fauna of the Carpathian Basin is more colorful than the European average. The country has 31 national park visitor centers and 169 educational paths and the associated services. (MTI)
