Asda partners with Uber Eats to launch 30-minute grocery delivery
Asda has become the first UK supermarket to strike a deal with Uber Eats, offering grocery delivery in as little as 30 minutes.
The trial, which launches this week from two stores in Leeds and Birmingham, will enable customers to choose from 300 Asda own-brand products and branded staple products, including ready meals, fresh fruit and vegetables and beer, wine and spirits.
Asda customers will be able to place their order through the Uber Eats app, with no minimum basket size required to qualify for the rapid delivery service. The order will then be picked by Asda staff in store before being collected and delivered by an Uber Eats courier.
If the trial proves successful, the partnership could be extended to additional Asda stores later this year.
