Prohibition of termination: can leases be terminated?
For the most severely affected sectors, leases for non-residential premises may not be terminated by June 30, 2020, according to a government decree. However, what about a breach of contract? What happens if the tenancy period expires during the notice period? Deloitte Legal explored different options.
To mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the government decided on March 18, 2020, among its first provisions, that “for non-residential premises, leases for non-residential premises may not be terminated by June 30, 2020.”
