500,000 tourists expected to visit lake Balaton

According to a survey by Hungarian Tourism Zrt (MT), 58% of the households plan domestic trips.

About 50% of domestic trips will be visits to the lake
Balaton region, 13% to North-Hungary and 12 % to the North-Alföld region. The
average duration of the domestic travels is expected at 5.5 nights.

In 2006, 53% of the guest nights around the Balaton were
resrved by domestic tourists and the guest nights yielded a total of Ft 17.7
billion ($95 million), 10% up year-on-year.
