Half a billion forints paid to hackers because of ransomware attacks

According to antivirus software manufacturer G Data, Hungarian companies pay.

HUF 180,000 on average to hackers, so that they get back the access to the data on their computers. Having paid the ransom, 70 percent do receive the key to restore data but they can rarely do it in full. G Data’s estimation is that in the last two years Hungarian businesses paid about HUF 500 million worth of ransom to hackers. Ransomware attacks represent the biggest danger to computers these days.
