Retail sales may accelerate this year
The Christmas season has confirmed the optimistic expectations of the traders. There were several among the big supermarket chains that reached two-digit growth during the Christmas season, but the number of traders also increased who expected a boom this year and closed with deficit.
According to Vámos György, Secretary-General of the National Trade Association (OKSZ); it seems certain that 4-5 percent expansion will occur in this year’s festive season, compared to last year’s. This means, that the costumers spent 840-850 billion HUF in December, compared to the 805 billion HUF of 2009 – reports Népszabadság Online.
