Hotels by lake Balaton are popular

The gross average room rate for a hotel room was HUF 17 000, while the net rate was HUF 14 200 in the first five months of the year. The gross average rate shows growth of 3 per cent, while the net rate fell by 1 per cent, compared to the same period a year earlier. Gross revenues per hotel room (REVPAR) amounted to HUF 9 200, showing an increase of 3 per cent. Three, four and five star hotels operating around lake Balaton experienced a 13-14 per cent increase in revenues while those in Budapest and the western part of the country registered a decline in revenues of 4-7 per cent.
