A lack of skilled, young salespeople in Hungary
There would be a strong need for skilled employers in trade in Hungary, but currently the majority of salespeople are those who has been not accepted by higher institutions of education – an article by VG points out.
The loss of prestige in this field partly derives from the fact that a number of retail chains have re-structered their tasks and made their salespeople do logistics- and supplier-related tasks. However, there are plenty of problems in the area of education, too. There are few students who apply to be salespeople, most of the employers are thus people who have not been accepted by various higher institutions of education and have no proper plans about their future – Ildikó Kállai Szijjiné, HR manager of Praktiker told VG. In addition, the schedule and curriculum for those applying for various education forms in this field is not commensurate with current trends in trade, either.
