Growth in retail sales in the Czech Republic accelerated in August
In August, the annual growth in retail sales increased by 4.8 percent from the 4.6 percent of July, the Czech Statistical Office announced on Friday.
The number of working days this and last August is the same.
Fuel sales increased by 6.8 percent, and the sales of industrial equipment increased by 5.6 percent. 2.6 percent more from foods were sold than a year ago. The turnover of Internet shops grew by 12.4 percent in August.
However, the turnover of healthcare products and pharmaceuticals declined moderately by 1.1 percent in annual comparision. (Kokes János, MTI)
