Nébih has suspended the operation of a confectionery factory in Vas County
Due to deficiencies posing a serious food safety risk, the National Food Chain Safety Authority (Nébih) has suspended a confectionery manufacturing plant in Vas County with immediate effect – Nébih announced on its website on Tuesday.
According to the information, during the inspection before the holiday season, serious food hygiene deficiencies were discovered in the plant. In some rooms, the floor, walls, and doors were heavily soiled, and the sink and sink basin did not meet hygiene standards. In some cases, raw materials were stored directly on the floor, without pallets or underlay, and the health fitness tests of the workers had also expired.
The authority immediately withdrew 55 items, 1.13 tons of untraceable and expired food from circulation and placed them under official seal, and at the same time recalled eight items of food produced by the company.
The Nébih immediately suspended the operation of the plant due to the violations discovered. The company was only allowed to continue its activities after the defects had been completely eliminated and another official inspection had been carried out, they said.
