Increasing prestige of agricultural higher education
Balázs Győrffy, the president of the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told at a Budapest trade meeting that in the future agricultural higher education would be better adapted to the needs of the economy. Education’s structure needs to be different, too, to better meet the demand of small and medium-sized family farms. This year less than 7 percent (5,000 students) of new students started studying agriculture, the goal is to increase this ratio to above 10 percent.
