German retail sales in October decreased by 1 percent in real terms
The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on Wednesday stated that October retail sales fell by 1 percent in real terms, compared to the same month of the previous year. In a monthly comparison, retail sales increased by 2.4 percent.
Analysts polled by Reuters expected retail sales growth of 1 percent monthly and annual basis.
The HDE German trade association has just improved its forecast on German retail sales growth this year from 2 percent to 2.5 percent. (MTI)
