Parliamentary committee set up to examine the privatization of the sugar industry
The parliament set up a committee on Monday, in order to examine the privatization of the sugar factories. The proposal of Font Sándor, Ivanics Ferenc és Sebestyén Lászó was adopted by the House with 302 votes against 46 abstentions. The proposal was not supported by only the Socialist faction – wrote MTI.
Beside the investigating of the privatization of sugar factories, the committee will evaluate the Hungarian position in the EU sugar reforms, since the country's accession and will explore the consequences. According to the proposal; over the past two decades, such measures were taken, that hurt the national interest of the sector and led to the catastrophic degradation of the sugar industry – reports MTI.
