Agricultural price rises slowing down
The prices of agricultural products were 35.3 per cent up in November 2007, compared to the same month in 2006. The prices of plant products were up by 60.2 per cent, while animal products were 9.4 per cent more expensive than a year before. In November 2007, the rate of price increase slowed down somewhat for potato and vegetables, although it was 139.9 per cent and 24.6 per cent respectively for apple and grape. The average price of animals intended for slaughter was up by 1.2 per cent. This was the result of a 24.8 per cent increase in the price of poultry on one side and a 13.5 per cent drop in the price of swine and another 6.4 per cent drop in the price of cattle.
