Disadvantaged regions can become the engine of developing economies. These regions have significant growth potential in food production and other related industries, according to a recent summary of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
According to the food and agriculture situation in 2017 publication, to exploit the resources, the developing countries have to face and resolve the challenges arising from the combination of the low productivity levels of farmers, limited opportunities for industrialization and rapid population growth and urbanization.
