Online retail: development and restructuring
More and more people choose online shopping in Hungary – revealed a comprehensive market survey conducted by Olcsóbbat.hu and UNAS, with the participation of more than 2,000 online shops. 68 percent of online shop owners reported increased sales and every second store which has a web shop as well realised half of its revenue online. For 2013 Olcsóbbat.hu forecasts HUF 200 billion worth of sales in e-commerce. Online stores realised 27 percent of their sales from information technology goods, 18 percent from consumer electronics, 13 percent from books and vouchers, and 12 percent from mobile phones and their accessories. Online stores keep innovating: 9 out of 10 developed something in 2012 and the priorities were marketing communication and increasing the assortment of products.
