White or red, narrow or wide
We drink the most, if white wine is filled in wide glass in our hand – the experiment of the Iowa State University shows.
The researchers of the university requested from participants to fill a normal doses drink to themselves.
If you prefer white wine, chances are you drink a lot more of it than you think. A study at Iowa State University found that when people pour white wine into a clear glass, they pour 9 percent more than people who drink red wine. Why? White wine blends in with the glass, causing drinkers to pour more than they think they are. Lead researcher Dr. Doug Walker told the Telegraph it also has to do with the fact that everyone has a totally different idea about how much wine constitutes a glass. The study didn't include people who drink straight from the bottle, but we'd guess they drink a lot no matter what color the wine is. (agrarszektor.hu)
