A truce in the American-European customs war
After thirteen years the American-European customs war because of the hormone-treated U.S. beef can end.
The worst part of the conflict was at the end of George W. Bush term in office, when the U.S. government increased the duty of some of the European products. Exemptions have been given only to the British products. The United States has withdrew these import measures for a number of products on Wednesday, in exchange the European Union will allow thousands of tonnes of non-hormone-treated U.S. beef on European markets.
