Food price inflation didn’t slow down in February yet
Data by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reveals that consumer prices were 25.4% higher in February 2023 than a year earlier. Compared with January 2023, prices augmented by 0.8%. In a one-year comparison food prices jumped 43.3% in February 2023. Egg prices climbed 79.2%, dairy products cost 76.2% more, cheese became 72.1% more expensive, and we had to pay 51.9% more for rolls and pastries. Compared with January 2023, food prices were up 1.7%. //
