Retail sales in the Czech Republic decreased in February
In February, retail sales in the Czech Republic fell by 3 percent year-on-year – the Czech Statistical Office said in Prague on Wednesday.
Turnover decreased in all types of stores due to restrictive measures imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Only internet commerce has not fallen.
In addition to grocery stores and drugstores, the vast majority of stores were closed or allowed to operate to a limited extent. On the other hand, online store sales rose sharply – by 42 percent. (Kokes János, MTI)
