FBAMSZ: online travel insurances became more expensive by 7 percent
The price of online travel insurances concluded at the end of May has risen by 7 percent compared to the same period last year – the Hungarian Association of Independent Insurance Brokers (FBAMSZ) told MTI on Friday, which also drew attention to the fact that it is not worth saving on the average daily premium of HUF 665, because the insurances significantly reduce the risks of travel.
Despite this, a third of those planning to go abroad still do not take care of insurance, even though the right offer can be quickly selected on the comparison pages of insurance brokers. This type of protection is also useful for those who otherwise have a European Health Insurance Card or travel insurance linked to a bank card, as additional insurance may be required in addition to these – they indicated.
It was pointed out that according to the requirements of some insurance companies, travel insurance must be taken out from the territory of Hungary. Illnesses that existed before the trip are usually not insured, problems related to pregnancy are not covered by all travel insurances, additional insurance must be taken out for many sports activities, and very different baggage insurance conditions apply to more valuable personal items. They added that it is not possible to take out travel insurance to a country that is classified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade as dangerous and not recommended for travel due to war or armed unrest. For this reason, for example, it is not possible to take out insurance even for a visit to Transcarpathia – reads the announcement.
