The irrigation season to be extended

From this year, the government will extend the period of agricultural water use, in which farmers will have access to irrigation water at a discounted price – the Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture said in Fábiánsebestyén, Csongrád County.

Farkas Sándor said at the press conference on the governmental decision due to the national drought situation: the irrigation season lasts in 2019 from 1 March to 1 October instead of the usual 15 April to 30 September period, adjusting to the climate change and farmers’ needs. (MTI)
