FAO: world's rice production is reducing
The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), revised the forecast of the world’s rice production downward, however, production will still exceed the demand, and therefore a possible risk of the outbreak of a food crisis did not increase.
According to the Monday published datas of the international organization, this year a 724.5 million tons of paddy rice harvest is expected, 7.8 million less than they had expected, mainly due to the fact that there was less monsoon than average in India.
The expected amount is more than last year’s, and the FAO does not expect a significant change. (MTI, tozsdeforum.hu)
