FAO food price index rises to ten-year high
The organization’s food price index takes into account the international market prices of the five most important food raw materials – vegetable oils, cereals, meat, dairy products and sugar. Based on this, last year’s indicator increased by an average of 28.1 percent (27.6 points) to 125.7 points, the highest level since 2011, when the indicator was 131.9 points. (MTI)
