FamilyMart: fighting the workforce shortage with facial recognition technology
In Yokohama FamilyMart introduced checkouts that use facial recognition technology. The company seeks to make adjustments as there is a nationwide labour shortage. With technology developed by Panasonic, customers can register their photo and credit card information and then check out items using unmanned registers.
