Wienerberger presented a bricklaying robot in Hungary
Wienerberger’s new masonry robot has arrived in Hungary, which can perform the work of entire bricklayer teams on construction sites. The innovative technological development works quickly, with perfect precision, and offers a solution to the significant labor shortage affecting the construction industry. The Hungarian team of the building materials manufacturer is working to make the robot available to domestic construction companies as soon as possible, thus improving the efficiency and quality of construction sites.
The innovative masonry robot, named WLTR – pronounced Valter – was introduced in Hungary in the company of hundreds of construction industry professionals, contractors, investors and traders. The revolutionary novelty of the market-leading building materials manufacturer Wienerberger and the Czech GreenBuild is capable of constructing up to 10 square meters of masonry per hour with perfect precision, up to a height of 3.25 meters. The robot, which is suitable for constructing external and internal load-bearing walls and partitions in commercial, industrial and residential buildings, has a capacity equivalent to the work of a team of five masons. WLTR places masonry elements exactly following the blueprints and with machine precision, thereby eliminating the possibility of errors and ensuring consistent quality of work.
The construction industry is facing an increasingly serious labor shortage throughout Europe, which not only increases the costs of construction projects, but also significantly extends the time of implementation. With this unique development, Wienerberger aims to offer a solution to the problems of construction companies struggling with a shortage of specialists and to significantly contribute to increasing the efficiency of the construction industry.
“The WLTR masonry robot is not just a unique technological development, but a real solution to a pressing market need. Although labor shortages are not the only problem in the sector, they cause significant problems, and with them the demand for sustainable solutions and improved efficiency is constantly growing,”
– said János Potos, member of the board of directors responsible for sales and marketing at Wienerberger Zrt.
“We are particularly proud that with this solution, a building material with such a long history and still playing a decisive role today, such as fired ceramics, has been combined with the most modern technology. Wienerberger’s goal is to support the work of construction industry players with solutions that improve the quality of construction and reduce the time and costs of construction,”
– added the expert.
