This is what Olympians eat, thanks to Michelin-starred chefs
The food for the competitors of the 2024 Paris Olympics will be prepared by four Michelin-starred chefs, which guarantees that the athletes will encounter a high-quality and varied menu in the Olympic Village, reports Inside the Games.
A 3,500-seat restaurant was built for the Paris Olympics, where 1,200 portions of Michelin-starred food are served to the athletes every day. The 40,000-course menu was developed jointly by star chefs and sports nutrition experts, which pays particular attention to variety and healthy nutrition. 30 percent of the food is plant-based, 80 percent of the ingredients come from France, and 100 percent of the meat is domestic.
With the needs of athletes in mind, the menu includes high-quality cheeses such as comté and brie de meaux. 800 baguettes are baked daily and a wide selection of cakes will be available. In addition to plant-based dishes, popular dishes include chicken dishes, salmon, chicken breast fillets and chicken skewers.
