These single-use plastics must be gone by 1 July
From 1 July, certain single-use plastic products will be prohibited from being placed on the market, according to a government decree published in the Hungarian Gazette.
The legislation also lists what the ban applies to:
cotton swass;
cutlery (fork, knife, spoon, cutlery);
plate;
straw;
beverage mixing sticks;
sticks for balloons;
a food container made of polystyrene, i.e. a food container, in particular a box, with or without a roof, in order to store ready meals to be taken away or to be eaten locally;
polystyrene beverage containers, beverage cups, including roofs, caps, lids.
