These are Hungarian travelers’ favorite destinations for Easter
Ryanair – the leading low-cost airline in Europe and Hungary – has ranked the most popular foreign destinations among Hungarian passengers by analyzing booking data for the Easter period between 17 and 24 April 2025. The statistics clearly show that Italy remains unbeatable, leading the top list with 27% of bookings, followed by Great Britain (17%) and Spain (13%).
Italy: spring sunshine and festive flavors
Italian cities – including Milan-Bergamo, Rome and Bari – offer the perfect combination of direct and quickly accessible destinations for lovers of cultural experiences, gastronomy and Easter traditions. The festive cake called Colomba Pasquale, special lamb dishes and the Mediterranean climate guarantee pleasant temperatures and sunshine even in April – creating ideal conditions for a spring break.
Great Britain: Liverpool now flies alongside London
Great Britain came in second place, which is primarily held in high esteem by the unwavering interest in London – not least due to the significant Hungarian community living there. The city on the banks of the Thames attracts thousands of visitors each year with its cultural and historical offerings, lively markets and museums. Thanks to the expansion of the 2025 summer schedule, Liverpool will now be accessible from Budapest this year – the metropolis known as the home of the Beatles is not only of historical importance in music but is also becoming increasingly popular with its iconic nightlife.
Spain: sunshine, beaches and tradition
Spain, which comes in third place, is primarily popular with those who want sunshine, beaches and rich culture during the Easter holidays. In addition to the classic destinations – Barcelona, Málaga and Alicante – a new contender has also appeared: Castellón. The spring events and historic cities of the Mediterranean region offer an ideal location for Easter getaways.
