Every year, LEGO surprises its employees with exclusive sets that are never released to the public. These rare, limited-edition sets become highly sought-after collectibles, often selling for exorbitant prices on secondary markets. The 2024 holiday employee set was particularly special for Hungarians, as it featured symbolic animals representing the seven countries where LEGO factories are located, including the Turul bird for Hungary. While this set has already surged in price, some older employee-exclusive LEGO sets are worth a small fortune – VG.hu points out.

The Most Valuable LEGO Employee Sets

Since 2008, LEGO has given its employees unique, one-of-a-kind sets. According to Brick Economy, these are the five most expensive employee-exclusive sets:

5. The LEGO Duck – €264 ($285 / 105,000 HUF)

This nostalgic set pays tribute to LEGO’s first-ever toy, a wooden duck on wheels from 1932. The LEGO version closely resembles the original, except the beak doesn’t move. Its current average price is €264.

4. The Nutcracker – €280 ($300 / 112,000 HUF)

Inspired by Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet, the Nutcracker set is a highly sought-after holiday symbol. Featuring a detailed Nutcracker figure, it has sold for up to €280.

3. Ole Kirk’s House – €486 ($525 / 194,000 HUF)

This set recreates the childhood home of LEGO’s founder, Ole Kirk Christiansen, an iconic piece of the company’s history. The detailed Danish countryside house features intricate wooden architecture, a roof structure, and interior design. The highest recorded sale price is €486.

2. Christmas X-Wing – €930 ($1,000 / 372,000 HUF)

One of the most sought-after LEGO employee sets, the Christmas Star Wars X-Wing includes:

  • A white and red X-Wing fighter,
  • A festive base station with Christmas decorations,
  • Three unique minifigures, including a Christmas sweater-wearing Yoda.

This set typically sells for around €788, but prices have already hit €930 in 2025.

1. The Big Heart – €1,500 ($1,620 / 600,000 HUF)

The most expensive LEGO employee set is also the very first from 2008. Simply named “The Heart,” this large red LEGO heart is valued not for its complexity but for its symbolism and rarity. It represents LEGO’s appreciation for its employees and is the ultimate collector’s item, now selling for up to €1,500.
