This is what is most expensive among foods
In May 2020, consumer prices were on average 2.2% higher than a year earlier. Over the past year, the prices of food and spirits and tobacco products have risen significantly. The slower rise in services prices than last year played the largest role in the slowdown in inflation.
In 12 months, compared to May 2019, the price of food increased by 8.4%, of which in Paris, sausage 22.0, pork 20.7, seasonal food (potatoes, fresh vegetables, fruit) 19.1, sugar was 15.0% higher and salami, dry sausage and ham 12.6% higher, according to the latest CSO report. The prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 6.7% on average, of which tobacco products by 11.1%. Services had to be paid for 2.6% more, of which the price of home repair and maintenance increased by 11.7% and that of vehicle repair and maintenance by 9.3%. The price of vehicle fuels decreased by 22.0%.
