This is the true cost of phishing attacks for SMEs
The range of threats is constantly evolving and expanding as more and more employees choose to work remotely. In particular, the number of phishing attacks has increased exponentially since the transition to remote work.
According to Microsoft’s New Future of Work report, 80% of security professionals have experienced an increase in security threats since moving to remote work. 62% of professionals noted that phishing attacks have increased more than any other type of threat.
Phishing attacks aim to steal user information such as credit card numbers and login information. This is done by an attacker tricking the victim into opening an email, instant message, or text message by masquerading as a trusted source. However, stealing such data has an impact beyond the targeted individual, as it allows a hacker to gain access to corporate systems through home settings.
