This coffee machine can take the place of baristas
Hungarians’ coffee-making habits at home are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and it is not uncommon to find professional-level coffee machines in households as well. The Philips LatteGo 5500, a compact yet versatile automatic coffee machine that can make up to 20 different coffees, can be the newest companion for coffee lovers at home. But can it really compete with a professional barista? Is it worth the price or just another expensive household appliance?
The Philips LatteGo 5500 is also convincing at first glance. The machine is 24.6 cm wide, 37.1 cm high and 43.3 cm deep, so it doesn’t take up too much space, but it’s not the smallest on the market either. It weighs 8 kilograms, which makes constant packing difficult, but in return we get a massive, robust machine. The modern, slightly futuristic design with black and white coloring fits perfectly into most kitchens and is guaranteed to attract attention.
The greatest advantage of the LatteGo 5500 is its versatility. The machine has 20 preset programs that can be activated with a single button press. These include well-known drinks such as espresso, cappuccino or americano, but the machine can also prepare specialties such as flat white, ristretto or café au lait. This variety makes the machine attractive to those who like variety and special coffees.
The machine has a built-in grinder and boiler, which ensures that the pressure and temperature are always optimal to prepare the perfect coffee. However, it is important to note that the final result depends largely on the quality of the raw materials used. Although the machine is technologically capable of producing the right conditions, excellent coffee also requires quality ingredients.
