EY: A market breakthrough for electric vehicles is expected in Europe by 2030
In Europe, by 2030, the share of sales of electric and hybrid vehicles (EV) is expected to exceed all other types and their number will reach 75 million, according to the forecast of the international consulting company EY.
According to their announcement sent to MTI on Wednesday, a breakthrough can be said when the share of electric vehicles within the entire vehicle fleet reaches 10 percent.
It was highlighted: while three years ago, 4 out of every 100 new vehicles sold were fully electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV), until last year this ratio rose to 20 in the markets of the 27 EU member states, the United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland.
Electric buses and vans account for 14 and 7 percent of the total market, respectively, while the share of electric trucks was around 1.5 percent in 2023 after 0.4 percent the previous year.
