Hunbisco president Sándor Sánta told in his opening presentation: in the first eight months of 2025 the size of the market approached HUF 450bn, but manufacturer revenues increased only because of the strong inflation, as the market declined in terms of volume. The price of cocoa has moderated, but is still twice as high as it used to be two years ago.
Mayssa Vandevyvre, director general of CIUS spoke about the European sugar market. She said that although European sugar buyers prefer local sourcing, CIUS is pushing for greater diversity, as it would increase security of supply and reduce the risk of market disruption. Three companies were introduced at the event. Haribo, the leading manufacturer of gummy candies from Nemesvámos ships its products to every part of the world. Storck is expanding its Hungarian offering with innovative products. Mórahalom-based NL Green manufactures sweetener sticks for mixing hot and cold drinks.
