Annual food donations worth HUF 600 million

The Hungarian Food Bank was founded in 2005. It is a non-profit food wholesale organisation for the distribution of food donations to charities, social institutions and local governments. At present, food banks operate in 18 countries including the US and France. The HQ of the food bank network is located in Paris. Its annual budget of HUF 20-25 million also comes from donations, while the majority of its staff is composed of volunteers. Many of the major FMCG companies have already joined the project.
