Annually 200 million Chinese get sick from contaminated food

The Chinese leadership promises to improve food security –the Renmin Ribao central party newspaper wrote on Wednesday.

The government has promised the introduction of a more effective regulatory system and legal environment, and also technical assistance to guarantee food safety issues.

A unified national database will be established to reach a greater publicity to the companies that violate the regulations. Chinese consumers will be involved into the increase of food safety with a greater extent, cash rewards are promised to residents who notify abuses. (MTI)
