Eurostat: the Union’s tourism continued to grow in 2017
The number of guest nights spent in hotels in European Union member states continued to grow in 2017, exceeding 3.2 billion, which is an increase of 5.1 percent compared to 2016 – Eurostat announced on Wednesday.
Tourist traffic from other member states increased by 6.9 percent and domestic tourism increased by 3.5 percent.
According to the data released by the Union’s statistical office on Wednesday, the occupancy rate of EU accommodation has improved steadily since 2009, after the end of the financial crisis. (MTI)
