Eurostat: Fruits are grown on nearly 36.3 thousand hectares in Hungary
In Hungary, fruit was produced on 36.3 thousand hectares in 2017. In the European Union (EU) fruit trees covered nearly 1.3 million hectares of land, two thirds of which were concentrated in Spain, Italy and Poland, the EU Statistical Office (Eurostat) announced.
According to the report summarizing the data for 2017, from apple orchards slightly more than 25,000 hectares can be found in the Hungarian orchards, apricots on 5.4 thousand hectares, peaches on 3.5 hectares, and pears on 2.3 hectares. (MTI)
