The numbers of guest nights show that the tourism of rural areas is booming, while the visitation of urban destinations lags behind them. In the rural areas of countries such as France, Poland, or Sweden, the number of reservations is significantly higher than in the case of cities.

Nine of the ten regions with the highest growth rates were in France, while the other high growth areas were in Poland, Germany and Sweden. Last year’s booking data for Prague (-52 percent), Berlin (-39 percent), Budapest (-34 percent) and Vienna (-25 percent) fell behind the 2019 figures the most, they said.
