Europe’s discount airlines expanded by over ten percent in 2017
All three major discount airlines of Europe has achieved over ten percent passenger traffic growth in January, compared to the previous year – according to the passenger statistics published by the airlines.
In January, Ryanair transported 17 percent more, 8.7 million passengers, while the occupancy rate of flights improved from 88 to 90 percent.
The easyJet last year reached a sales growth of around 5-7 percent almost every month. In January this year increased the number of its customers by 11 percent to 4.7 million.
Hungarian background Wizz Air achieved the highest increase of 18 percent, the Budapest-based airline transported 1.8 million passengers in the first month of the year with a 88 percent occupancy rate, which is a significant increase of 4.5 percentage points above last year’s level. (MTI)
